One More πŸŽ„ Christmas πŸŽ„ Panel

Susan had one more Christmas panel quilt!
Quilt Info:
Maker: Susan of Dakota County Star Quilters
Size: 54" X 73"
Batting: Quilters Dream Batting 100% Cotton Select, Natural
Thread: Glide--Lead Grey
Interesting Info: My rule of thumb for thread is to use the color I see most of in a quilt.  So my first thought was to use black on this quilt. Susan wanted monofilament. We compromised and used a dark grey, which came out just right, not too stark and not invisible.
The backing is this super soft flannel in buffalo check! ⤵️
The quilting is this wonderful snowflake design! ⤵️
Another peek at the quilting, from the back side ⤵️
When I showed this to my quilt friend in Tokyo yesterday, via Skype, she thought it was funny that I was quilting a "snow" quilt on such a hot day! Great job working ahead, Susan!!!
Grace & peace!!! ~Nancy

  2. Thread color is so important and can make all the difference. Your agreement really worked out. I am glad it wasn't monofilament. It is a pain to work with besides.

    Your quilting is beautiful!

  3. That is one really cute job with the panel. Good job Susan. And you are right, Ginger Ice is a great design. It will go on my list for future sales. Do you use the same color thread on the front and the back? That is going to be a very snuggly quilt.

  5. Is she getting all her Christmas quilting done? That panel is very cute, and the backing fabric is perfect. The quilting looks good, as always!

  7. Susan added great borders to this quilt. I love the quilting design you chose. The thread color works well. Snowflakes were probably fun to keep in mind :-)

  11. Another terrific Christmas panel finished! Y’all are making me feel like it’s time to haul out the holly and string up the lights already. Then I go outside, get hit with the soupy Southern humidity, am accosted by a swarming army of mosquitos, and winter seems a LONG way away. That snowflake design is gorgeous. Do you ever have issues with a design like that not aligning properly where the snowflakes begin and end?

  12. I'm glad you mentioned how you select your thread. Things like that help when you're looking at someone's quilt, and thinking .....? Well done!
