Pattern: Fresh Faces by LJ Simon
Size: 36" X 48"
Batting: Quilters Dream Poly
Thread: Glide 60--Cream
Quilting: Echoed Swirls by Longarm League
Interesting Info: I feel guilty when I make a quilt from a kit, since I have a great fabric collection! But this pattern is only available as a kit right now.
The solid fabrics in the kit are shot cottons. I made a few changes in the colors, as I couldn't see having a tan colored apple or a washed out rainbow! The bear got a color makeover, also, and the elephant got a more colorful flower!
I used Heat N Bond Lite, gifted to me from my Bee Sista, Kathleen McMusing--thanks, Kathleen!
I love this quilting--Echoed Swirls:
All twelve of the blocks:
I piecing together three fabrics for the back. The third one is just a sliver:We're very excited to meet this new little bundle of joy!!!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

ReplyDeleteYour quilt is adorable!! I love the the pattern, the changes you made to the kit fabrics, and the quilting design. I want to know more about the Quilter's Dream Poly batting, too. I have never tried it but am interested in experimenting with it since I was so disappointed by how my fancy custom quilting was obscured by the shrinkage and puckering of the cotton batting after washing. Is the all-poly batting a better choice for modern quilts? How does it drape? Any bearding issues? I'd love to know which battings you stock and/or use most often for customer quilts and which are your favorites. But most of all, I want to know if the baby was born yet. We want pictures, Madame Grandmama!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful baby quilt! The color changes that you have made are perfect, too. Plus, your quilting really makes this! Congratulations on your new future grandchild!
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable!
