Interesting Info: This is the free monthly pattern from Primrose Cottage for September, minus one pumpkin. I made mine this size to hang outside my Mom's door at her senior apartment.

This quilting is called Ground Cover. I made it dense, as this is a smallish wall hanging:
For backing and binding, I used an autumn moon Japanese print, another piece from the 200 yen bin at Yuzawaya in Tokyo:
And here it is hanging at my Mom's door, along with a plaque and three bird woodcarvings my Dad made:

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely wall hanging! A lesson, that we don’t always have to follow a pattern exactly! We can make it ours! I like the pumpkin and star. So often we see pumpkins and maple leaf blocks. Your mom’s entry is very inviting! I’m sure she loves the added decorations you make for her.
