Spiny 🗻 Peaks

This is my quilt that I started for National Sew a Jelly Roll Day, September 18, 2021!!!
Quilt Info:
Maker: Me!!!
Pattern: Spiny Peaks from Zen Chic for Moda--a FREE pattern!!!
Size: 74" X 69"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Egg Nog
Pantograph: Sparkler ⤵️ from Dawna's Design Threads--a FREE panto!!!
Interesting Info: This is a free pattern, perfect for leftover bits of jelly rolls and/or scraps. The rows are sewn together on the diagonal, which makes the finished size difficult to calculate. I followed the instructions, but unlike the pattern, mine turned out wider than it is long!!! Of course it can just be turned on it's side, but I do prefer the look of the chevrons going horizontally.
Here are some close-ups of my scraps! ⤴️⤵️
For backing I used this large graphic floral print from a duvet cover from IKEA!!! ⤵️
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  1. What a bright and cheery quilt. It is always fun when your blog has a Nancy original! I love looking at a quilt like that and seeing all the fun fabrics. Sparkler is a really fun quilting design - love its graphicness but it blends nicely into a graphic quilt.

  16. Oh Nancy I love this! I just hopped over from Diann's blog where she referenced your beautiful quilt, and I'm officially squirreled now - lol! Like you I prefer the horizontal chevrons. The backing is the perfect complement to the scrappiness on the front. Nice job (standing ovation.)
