Here are two GE Designs quilts I quilted this past week, the first by me, the second by Quilter Bonnie!
Quilt Info #1:
Fabrics: 4 FQs from Bonnie & Camille, the rest from my 10" square collection
Pattern: Kira from GE Designs
Size: 68" x 85"
Batting: Quilters Dream Batting 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Light Turquoise
This quilt all started with these 4 fat quarters, a gift from my Quiltin' Cousin Sue!⤵️ From these, I went through my stack of 10" squares and picked out enough navy, turquoise, red and white with background to make a quilt! It took 40 light and 40 dark 10" squares to make this size.
Gudrun has a video on how to make her Kira quilt!⤵️
A lot of the 10" squares are Japanese prints. They mix right in with the modern prints!
I sewed together 3 different blue fabrics for the backing.⤵️Finished!!!⤵️ I got 12--10" squares from those 4 fat quarters Sue gave me for Christmas, and the rest was pulled from my 10" collection. That makes it free, right!?!
Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Quilter Bonnie
Fabrics: Words To Live By by Gingiber for Moda
Pattern: Dina from GE Designs
Size: 57" x 75"
Batting: Quilters Dream Batting 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Cleopatra
Check out these cute fabrics, "Words to Live By" from Gingiber!!!
Bonnie pieced the accompanying panel onto the back of her quilt making it a double sided quilt!!!⤵️
As someone who has been quilting and collecting fabric for a long time, I appreciate this reminder: "Use what's right in front of you"⤵️ Some of the other squares include: "Be kind whenever possible. It's always possible." "Everyone belongs." "A happy heart makes a happy home."Now, here are all 5 Dina quilts I've quilted so far:
GE Designs quilts are fast, fun and easy!
