🪡2 GE Quilts🧵

Here are two GE Designs quilts I quilted this past week, the first by me, the second by Quilter Bonnie!
Quilt Info #1:
Maker: Me!!!
Fabrics: 4 FQs from Bonnie & Camille, the rest from my 10" square collection
Pattern: Kira from GE Designs
Size: 68" x 85"
Batting: Quilters Dream Batting 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Light Turquoise
Pantograph: Soho ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
"Soho" is a classic swirly pantograph that looks great on most any quilt with straight lines and angles!!!
This quilt all started with these 4 fat quarters, a gift from my Quiltin' Cousin Sue!⤵️ From these, I went through my stack of 10" squares and picked out enough navy, turquoise, red and white with background to make a quilt! It took 40 light and 40 dark 10" squares to make this size.
Gudrun has a video on how to make her Kira quilt!⤵️
A lot of the 10" squares are Japanese prints. They mix right in with the modern prints!
I sewed together 3 different blue fabrics for the backing.⤵️
Finished!!!⤵️ I got 12--10" squares from those 4 fat quarters Sue gave me for Christmas, and the rest was pulled from my 10" collection. That makes it free, right!?!
Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Quilter Bonnie
Fabrics: Words To Live By by Gingiber for Moda
Pattern: Dina from GE Designs
Size: 57" x 75"
Batting: Quilters Dream Batting 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Cleopatra
Pantograph: Fun Flowers ⤵️ from Dastardly Quilt Studio
Check out these cute fabrics, "Words to Live By" from Gingiber!!!
Bonnie pieced the accompanying panel onto the back of her quilt making it a double sided quilt!!!⤵️
As someone who has been quilting and collecting fabric for a long time, I appreciate this reminder: "Use what's right in front of you"⤵️ Some of the other squares include: "Be kind whenever possible. It's always possible." "Everyone belongs." "A happy heart makes a happy home."
Beautiful fabrics and finish, Bonnie!!!
Now, here are all 5 Dina quilts I've quilted so far:
GE Designs quilts are fast, fun and easy!

  1. Gudrun Erla should send you a commission check. You are their brand ambassador for all practical purposes and such a fine one too! Love each one of these.

  2. Both quilts are gorgeous, lovely fabrics. I love the Fun Flowers panto, your quilting is fabulous!

  3. Bonnie knows you well to gift you FQ's that blend with your stash so nicely!

  4. Beautiful finishes! I love that Kira pattern!

  5. Both are such fun quilts! I love seeing the Japanese fabrics mixed with others and then the surprise back by Bonnie.

  6. What fun quilts!!! and cool to see the collection of Dina quilts you have quilted!! Are you sure your not really a spokesperson for GE haha!!!

  7. What beautiful quilts! Love the variety of prints you used in yours and the two sided quilt your friend made. So much inspiration!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects

  8. Yes, that makes your quilt a free quilt! Whoop Whoop for big scraps. I love your quilt. One day, I will make one like that because it's so simple but such a pretty result. It was fun to see all Dina's quilt too. Enjoy! ;^)

  9. Wonderful quilting! Thanks for the link to the Kira video -- that's not at all how I imagined the block is made. Very cool.

  10. Two fun and fabulous quilts! Great job to you and Bonnie. They both are delightful . Enjoy your week, Nancy. Hugs

  11. Those are both beautiful, Nancy! I love that block in your Kira quilt - is it made from two 10 inch squares? I recall making something like that a few years ago. The construction was fun!

  12. What an interesting construction! But the 2nd one has colors to die for.

  13. wonderful quilting on wonderful Gudrun quilts!
