He is risen! He is risen indeed!
These are the flowers we have blooming in our yard so far--the white flowers are Bloodroot, and the blue are Scilla. We have several patches around our yard.
I have 3 of my own quilt finishes to share with you today! This is what you see as you walk in our front door--two of the 3 quilts are in this view.
Size: 39" x 18"
Batting: Quilters Dream Poly
Thread: Glide--Cream
Pantograph: Crosshatch ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
These are three hymn panels from Fancy That Design House: "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing", "I Surrender All", and "Great is Thy Faithfulness"! I love how they are illustrated, plus they're a great reminder of the songs!!!

A mottled solid on the back clearly shows the quilting. I use a "Hang It Dang It" to hang it by.
Here's a close-up of "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing", a super favorite of my DH's!!⤵️
Quilt Info #2:
Size: 15" x 43"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Putty
Pantograph: Bear Paw ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
I made this Bear Paw wall hanging as a way to use up some colorful 2 1/2" squares from my scrap box! When they read one solid color, I can use them in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. But when they're multi-colored it's harder to decided which color to sort them in to.
Bear Paw quilting. The backing is a collection of bear related prints--paw prints, teddy bears, and honey bees.
Here's a close-up of the bottom block. I plan to make more of these blocks in the future, as my scrap bin allows. The block finishes at 13" square.
Quilt Info #3:
Size: 8" x 9"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Linen
Pantograph: Freemotion Texture #1 ⤵️ from Sew Shabby Pantos
This is a mini sized hymn panel from Fancy That Design House! I have quite a few more of these and will be sewing them up as time allows. "Amazing Grace" is one of the most popular hymns!!! I backed it with a leftover piece of linen from IKEA! ⤵️ When quilts are this small, I usually just stick a 3-M velcro wall sticker on the back and on the wall. I haven't decided where this will hang yet...
These eggs on our entryway table ⤵️ were made by my childhood next door neighbor. She moved away in 2nd grade and we lost touch. Fifty years later we happened to reconnect, to our great joy! Making these eggs were her specialty and she taught it to others. She gifted me with these six. She passed away unexpectedly a couple years after we reconnected. I'm glad to have these Easter eggs in her memory. Each one has a Bible verse and flowers inside.
The wooden eggs, above, ⬆️ were carved by my Dad. He also carved the bunnies and made the wooden baskets below. ⬇️
I made the fabric basket, decorative wool bunny and the mini quilt, which I change with the seasons. The yellow runner was woven by a Japanese friend!
Happy Easter to you and yours!!!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

ReplyDeleteHappy Easter! What a wonderful display of your Easter themed projects. The detail in the eggs made by the second grader was amazing! I like how you are using up the scraps that can't be contained to one color family!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteThe blocks on your beautiful disappearing 4 patch quilt appear to be asymetrical. Is there a pattern for that?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful and enviting entryway!
Thanks, Melody! Yes, that pattern is Katie from GE Designs!
DeleteThanks so much!
DeleteWhat a pretty display in your entryway, Nancy! I love your mini quilts and the very special eggs. The Amazing Grace mini reminds of my mother-in-law - that was her favorite hymn and she asked me to play it on the piano every time they came to our house. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you! I love the eggs from your childhood friend; how wonderful you were able to reconnect and receive this wonderful gift from her. Your quilts and the other handmade things make this all such a meaningful corner!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, Nancy. It was such a delight to tour your entryway. It is filled with so many beautiful handmades that I know you treasure. Your quilts are so beautiful . So many fun fabrics in the Bear Paw quilt. The delicate Easter eggs made by your friend are gorgeous and your dad's woodwork is amazing! Did you carve the ducks as well? I hope you share how you decorate for the next holiday. Have a fabulous week. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful display and post, Nancy! I really enjoyed reading about your special eggs and wood carvings! Happy Easter! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous display, Nancy. Thank you for sharing. Now that the cherry blossoms are done, I am looking forward to the azaleas.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful talents are represented! I have sung Amazing Grace for many occasions, it is one of my favs.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you got to reconnect with your old friend - her eggs are amazing and a great way to remember her by. I also love your dad's wooden creations. The entire entry way is wonderful! Happy Easter to you (even though I'm a day late, lol).
ReplyDeleteYour dad’s rabbits are absolutely fabulous and what treasures to have these handmade gifts as mementoes from your father and your childhood friend. We who are makers know how much of a person goes into every project we create. I have adored those hymn panels from the moment I saw them in a quilt I long armed for a client but have resisted purchasing them so far. Only because I have impulse-purchased SO much fabric already that is waiting patiently for me…. But I love your wall hanging and, before I forget — what is a Hang It Dang It system and why haven’t I heard of this before???
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter! Thank you for the eye candy in this post. Each quilt is so lovely and meaningful. I adore those hand crafted eggs! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Talent certainly runs in your family. Those eggs your father carved are amazing, as are the eggs your friend made. What a special treasure to have from her. I love your quilts with the hymns on them. The entryway to your home is pretty greeting for your guests.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and special way to enter your house!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your wonderful entryway. I haven’t seen the Hymn panels, but they are awesome. Amazing Grace was a favorite of my Dad’s and it’s Mr Busy’s also. Love the bear paw blocks that don’t know what color they are! I have a to. Of those, and they are calling me now!
ReplyDeleteThe lyric quilts are very nice and the lyrics are so beautiful. I really like what you did with your scraps that read multiple colors. I always have a hard time with scraps like that. Mind if I borrow your idea?
ReplyDeleteWow, so much to look at! I'm especially drawn to the bear paw runner; it's one of my favourite blocks, the the one that drew me in to quilting all those years ago.
ReplyDeleteYour entry looks very welcoming with these lovely decorations! Love the mini quilts, the bear paws runner is gorgeous! Love the eggs and baskets, more than decorations they are memories and signs of love.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing and linking up!
That's such a pretty display, full of love, creativity, and memories 💖 Your three quilt finishes are fabulous, too! I love that you used bear-themed fabrics for the back of the bear paw one; it's a fun little detail!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a blessed Resurrection Day, Nancy! Love the old hymn panels. We don't hear enough of those anymore with the more contemporary songs, though most of them are great too! I grew up on those old hymns and miss them. I have several of those panels ready to be sewn into a quilt one day! Your finishes are all lovely and I just love those eggs made by your friend. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings!
ReplyDeleteHow I wish my home was this bright, so pretty. I love your display! Thank you for linking up to Put your foot down.
