Embroidered Christmas Quilt

Quilter Bonnie surprised herself by hand embroidering all nine of these squares! Her original plan was to just do one or two, but she kept on going here and there and did all of them!!!
Quilt Info:
Maker: Quilter Bonnie
Size: 53" x 59"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Putty
Pantograph: Christmas ⤵️ from Dastardly Quilt Studio
The embroidery doesn't really show up in the whole quilt photos, so here are the nine embroidered blocks:
As you can see, I simply quilted right over the embroidery, using a thread to match the muslin background. An embroidered quilt doesn't have to be custom quilted.
"Christmas" is the name of this quilting, which includes, poinsettias, berries and holly leaves.⤵️
Bonnie plans to hang this on the wall in their dining room, where she swaps out different quilts throughout the year.
Beautiful Christmas quilt, Bonnie!!! Great job doing all that embroidery!!!

  1. Great work on the embroidery Bonnie, I love that kind of stitching. And Nancy of course you made the quilt all come together with your quilting.

  2. What a pretty quilt, and I love her embroidery! I'm so glad to see you quilted over the embroidery. On my little pillow, I was "afraid" to do that, now I wish I had because it looks great. I'll remember to do it next time!

  12. Very pretty. You did a nice job with the quilting, Nancy. Do you enjoy embroidery yourself? I do, though I can be moody about it. Back in 2011-2012, I embroidered 26 snowman blocks to make the "Snowmen A to Zzzz" quilt by Crabapple Hill Designs. That was my last big embroidery project!

  14. Great job by both of you. I like to do that same type of embroidery but I haven't made up the last one so I'm holding off doing more.
