RSC 💜 July

The July Rainbow Scrap Challenge is purple. I'm working on a 9-patch & snowball quilt for the RSC in 2025, inspired by Saija's quilt, here, who was inspired by Blue Elephant Stitches here!!! I made ten purple 9-patch blocks for July:
Here are close-ups of my 10 purple blocks. I have repeats from block to block, due to not having a lot of purple, but I didn't repeat within each block. Let me know if our "collections" cross!
If you're not seeing a lot of familiar fabric that may be because 38% of these fabrics were purchased in Japan!

Here are my 9-patch totals for 2025:

January 🩷: 9
February 💙: 12
March 💛: --
April 🩵: 9
May 💚: 10
June 🧡: 9
July 💜: 10
Total:   59 blocks

Fifty-nine blocks are exactly what I need to make the quilt I'm planning. I didn't do any yellow or red because Saija didn't have any in her quilt and I'm going for a similar look. She does have some yellow/light green combo blocks. I kept all of my green blocks bright/light green, leaning towards yellow.

Next I need 106 low volume squares, 6 1/2", for the background. Most of them will be snowballed.
I have enough purple 2 1/2" strips for at least one jelly roll drag race quilt, coming later this month! Linking up with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge at So Scrappy on Saturday.

  2. Your purple stash is so attractive to me. Do you happen to know the name of the one with little purple/black hexagons with colored centers? I saved this quilt with notes and photos from your blog and from the other 2 blogs and definitely want to make it at some point. :)

  3. I only saw a couple of purple fabrics that I have too. After checking out the original quilt you linked to - wow, that is pretty! Yours is taking shape quickly.

  4. You have such a lovely variety of prints. I need to stop collecting yardage and get with more variety! I know this quilt will be fabulous.

  5. Your 9 patches are pretty in purple, Nancy! There are so many different shades of purple, but I love how they are all playing together. I didn't see any that I have, but it was fun to look!

  6. This quilt is going to be fabulous!. There are a few fabrics in my purple basket that match yours. But only a few. The low volume fabrics are difficult for me. And I know from following you and Bonnie Hunter that it’s ok if there is some color, just mostly, white or cream or light beige.

  7. Oh, pretty purple fabrics, I love how the purple is discreet in some squares, and more present in others. You have quite a collection! Thank you for sharing your pretty blocks and linking up!
