Fun Quilts🧵

I have three quilts by two quilters, to share today!!!
Quilt Info #1:
Maker: Ann
Pattern: Olympia Mystery Quilt from Cotton Cuts, Fall 2021
Size: 72" x 72"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Lilac
Pantograph: Starlight ⤵️ from Karlee Porter
Ann bought this mystery quilt as a kit. The neat thing about it is that it came all cut out for her!!!
Beautiful batiks!!!
Ann and her sister picked out several pantos beforehand. Then I helped narrow the choice down. Both of them thought the curved quilting lines give this quilt a soft, modern look, and I agree!
A beautiful backing to go with the top!!!⤵️
Stunning!!! Ann plans on gifting this quilt to her sister's friend.
Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Ann
Fabrics: Abandoned 2 from Tim Holz
Pattern: Waverly from Villa Rosa Designs
Size: 64" x 80"
Batting: Hobbs Black 80/20
Thread: Glide--Marlin
Pantograph: Modern Meander ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
Ann used a Villa Rosa Designs quilt pattern to make this quilt. She designed the border herself, to enlarge the quilt--awesome border!!!⤵️
We narrowed Ann's panto choices down to Modern Meander. This quilt is going to another friend of her sister's, a man who survived a farm accident. We thought this panto suited a guy quilt best.
Perfect choice for backing!!! ⤵️ Great color coordination with the top!!!
Wonderful use of a black background by Ann!! A real vibrant quilt!
Quilt Info #3:
Maker: Karen
Pattern: Villa Rosa Designs
Size: 68" x 68"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Lightening
Pantograph: Easy Paisley ⤵️ from Sew Shabby Pantos
Karen made a quilt for herself this time, featuring a favorite flannel that she bought at a reduced price when the LQS was going out of business. It is a beautiful paisley border print, with both blue and red stripes.
She added in a few blender flannels to round out her quilt.
In Karen's first try making this quilt, she decided there was too much yellow. So she reined it in and rearranged her quilt top quite a bit until she came up with this arrangement that made her much happier!
In keeping with the paisley theme, I quilted it with "Easy Paisley". I think the name of this panto is a bit deceiving though as it is quite a dense pattern, not exactly what I would call "easy", although it is quite beautiful!
Karen bought a total of 5 yards of her favorite flannel fabric so she was able to feature the remaining yardage on the back to make this a reversible quilt!⤵️
Very pretty and soft, Karen!!! A perfect quilt for snuggling up with this coming winter in Minnesota!
Thank you Ann and Karen, for sharing your quilt inspiration here!!! And thank you quilters for stopping by!!!

  1. All 3 quilts are so beautiful. Love the backing on the mystery quilt! The Tim Holz fabrics are glorious, and I hope the man who survived the accident gets a lot of joy and comfort from that quilt. And Karen's pretty flannels really shine on the last one. I love the photos you take of the quilts you do - that window with all the light is fantastic!

  2. The fabric in Ann's quilt is kinda psychedelic, intriguing it is!! Lovely choice of pantos for all three.

  4. Those are beautiful quilts, Nancy! I really like the second one - the Villa Rosa design. Such a great design with simple blocks. Your quilting is always perfect for them, too!

  5. Did you use gray thread on Ann's quilt? I really hate using black thread, lol. Lovely quilting on all these!

  6. Ann’s mystery quilt is gorgeous. I love the colors and so jealous at a quilt that is already cut! Agree that the curves are perfect in Starlight. Her quilt with Tim Holz fabric is great. I have a collection and will keep this in mind. Modern Meander works perfectly with this quilt. Karen’s quilt will be perfect for snuggling. I love that she has a big swath of the fabric on the back too, and the Easy Paisley panto is the icing on this quilt.

  7. That 2nd panto is one of my favorites. I wish when I grow up I'll be able to do it freehand....probably not.

  9. Three wonderful quilts! I too like Ann's border as it really sets off the inner design. I like Karen's distribution of the yellow too!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects

  10. They are all wonderful.
I am impressed that the kit for the first one came already cut. What a bonus.
The black in the second quilt really makes the Tim Holtz fabric shine. And i love the backing.
Great borders on the third quilt and using the fabric in the backing has worked really well.

  11. There is a wide range of possibilities, these quilting patterns are each beautiful in their own way and work perfectly for each of the quilts. You are right, the Easy Paisley doesn't look very easy ;)) But it's a beautiful pattern and I love how it shows on the flannel. Thank you for sharing these pretty quilts and your work, and linking up!
