Lynn has been busy making gift quilts. She streamlined the process a bit by making them all the same pattern.
Quilt Info #1:
Maker: Lynn
Pattern: Dina by GE Designs
Size: 57" x 74"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Mango
Is this the cutest fabric in the world, or what?!
One of the prints includes hexagons and another includes bumble bees. ⤵️ "Honeycomb With Bees" was the perfect quilting choice. The same pantograph can be quilted without bees, so it's fun when a quilt comes along where I can quilt it WITH bees.
I prefer to take quilt photos outdoors in the natural light, but it's been very snowy or wet, as in melting snow, recently.
Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Lynn
Pattern: Dina by GE Designs
Size: 67" x 93"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Thyme
It may be hard to see, but there are 3 different VW Beetle prints in this quilt--white background, tan background and green background. Lynn ordered these unique prints from Spoonflower.
Lynn also looked around and found this Beetle Mania pantograph--so fun!
This is for a tall guy, therefore Lynn made it 93" long. Besides the 3 VW prints, she used a bunch of blenders.
Quilt Info #3:
Maker: Lynn
Pattern: Dina by GE Designs
Size: 57" x 73"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton Request
Thread: Glide--Cornflower
"Sun Gears" is the name of this quilting and makes for a very sunshiny quilt. I typically use a color of thread that blends in. But in this case, I went with contrasting yellow, because sunshine is bright yellow, right?!
Interesting fact--I used the same color of yellow thread in the bobbin. You absolutely can not tell--the thread sinks right into Minkee. ⤵️This group of prints includes, crabs, lobsters, sea turtles, starfish, dolphins, sea horses, tropical fish, waves, seaweed, water bubbles, plus blenders.
I love the yellow accent Lynn chose--definitely makes this a sunny, beachy quilt.
Great job, Lynn!!! These quilts will be loved!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

Those pantos are all so cool. Cant decide which palette I liked the best .... maybe the first or maybe the second. I have my eye on doing the Billie pattern.
ReplyDeleteLynn pieced some nice quilts, I love that pattern. Your quilting is just perfect for each colorway. Those will be some nice gifts. Well done Nancy and Lynn.
ReplyDeleteWonderful fabric choices, very cool!! And your quilting adds the perfect touch to complete her designs!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how different a quilt pattern can look with different fabrics! They are all so attractive. I am partial to the 2nd one, but I would take any of them. Your custom quilting fits the themes so well and is beautifully done. I love Lynn's yellow accent and the yellow thread on #3. I was thinking about your beautiful photos the other day - they are always light-filled. I am envious of that window next to your longarm!
ReplyDeleteSame pattern but yet they all look so different! I have never seen VW prints before.
ReplyDeleteI like that quilt design because it can highlight the fun prints used to make it. And those are each such fun fabric lines! Your quilting is always so perfect for the quilt, too, Nancy. The panto with the bees is just adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice quilt pattern! I like the pink fabric best, but pinks and reds are always my favorites. The bumblebee quilt design is perfect too!
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous quilts by Lynn. I love seeing the 3 different versions. It is so great you can use honeycomb with the bee; I have that one and wait to use either or a quilt. I like the gears panto, too.
ReplyDeleteThese quilts are gorgeous. Aaw the bee quilting makes me smile. Love it.
ReplyDeleteLovely quilts. So fun to see this in different colorways. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
