Kyle's King-size Kwilt

Kyle made this batik quilt for her daughter and future son-in-law's upcoming wedding and it's a beauty!

Now, don't be fooled by Kyle's name--she is one of my co-workers at Quilt Cove. She is super talented at combining/picking out fabrics for customers' quilts, as you can tell by this quilt.

This is the second largest quilt I've quilted on my longarm, but it fit without a hitch. It measures 99" X 116". I ran the 99" across the bars. It wouldn't have fit the other way, but this way had room to spare.

The edge-to-edge design she chose is Americana Flourish. The thread is medium blue, which shows up nicely on the navy flannel backing. Kyle chose flannel for the backing so the quilt will stay on the bed nicely, as in less likely to slip off. Not to mention the soft factor!

She added a piano key border across the top edge, to give it enough length.

Don't you love how random the placement is of all these quarter square triangles?!

Great job, Kyle! And congrats on your daughter's upcoming wedding!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  5. Very beautiful! I love the random color placement of the QSTs. And how great that the quilting is so visible on the back! It's truly reversible.
