Quilt Info:
Maker: Yokii of Tokyo, Japan
Size: 35" X 35"
Thread: Glide--Coneflower
Batting: Quilters Dream Bamboo
Quilting: Four Stars from Digital Longarm Quilting
Interesting Info: Yokii named this quilt "Always Have Fun!" I think an alternate name could be "Always Have Sun!" I quilted it on a sunny day in March, wishing for even more sun, and the quilting pattern looks like many suns!
The quilting is called "Four Stars", but like I said above, it reminds me of suns: ⤴️⤵️
You may recognize the fabrics as Basic Grey. Yokii had this sewn together in a 7 X 8 configuration. It wasn't quite square. I had some of these fabrics in my own collection and after talking with her, I was able to add one more row to make it an even 8 squares X 8 squares.
I found this fun arrow fabric for the back, in colors that coordinate. I used it for the binding, too.⤵️Here are some fun ideas from the fabric: "Go on a road trip, Learn how to knit, Follow my dreams, Join a gym, Go to Hawaii, Own my own business, Write a book, Make a quilt for each of my children, Learn to forgive." ⤵️
Yokii said she will put this on top of her kotatsu, a Japanese table with a heater inside. They are so wonderful in the cold weather! This patchwork cover will be colorful and cheerful on top of Yokii's kotatsu!!!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

ReplyDeleteBasicGrey's PB&J is a favorite of mine. The simple patchwork makes the fabric the star here! I'm kind of crazy about the arrow fabric, too. Points for you for using stash! : )
