Pixelated heart quilts are definitely a current trend in quilting! Here's one that Quilter Bonnie made!!!
Quilt Info:
Pattern: Pixelated Heart by Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter
Size: 56" X 71"
Batting: Quilters Dream Poly
Thread: Glide--Cream
Quilting: Obsidian from Urban Elementz
Interesting Info: Bonnie bought a kit from Maker Valley, with a variety of fun prints to make this! She plans on hanging it on their dining room wall. It could be an I-Spy quilt, with all the fun prints to discover!
This is a free pattern from Amy Smart's website. I should add, with a little online search, there are numerous free pixelated heart quilt patterns on the internet right now. Also, check out the 800+ pixelated hearts on Instagram at #pixelatedheartquilt.
Here are close-ups of some of the fun prints! I especially love the flamingoes on the bottom row:
Fun triple clamshells here, on the far right:
We all love strawberry prints! And that fox on the far right with a flower is adorable:
Here are some rabbit origami, top right, and some cute mountains, center stage:
For backing, Bonnie used this white on muslin extra-wide print:

Thank you very much! I am so happy with how my quilt turned out. I love the quilting design you chose. It reminds me of waves. Now to get working on the binding :)

I have noticed a lot of pieced heart quilts too. They do look like a fun to make and this one in blue is so pretty. Love the quilting design. Have a wonderful week. Happy quilting.
ReplyDeleteIf you had this much fun looking at the fabrics in this quilt just imagine how it will entertain it's new owner! It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! You know we all love hearts and this one is fun...I love the fabric with the postage mark...and the origami rabbits (I had an orange version). Great quilting job too, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteAlways fun to see what you and Bonnie are teaming up with, and this is a fun one! Love the flamingos, and that squiggly print right next to them :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty quilt! You can't go wrong with hearts pretty much anytime!
ReplyDeleteOh didn't that turn out cute! Thanks for the tour of those special fabrics. They were so cute and I recognized some of them too. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.

ReplyDeleteNice quilt - love the quilting pattern! Very pretty! Hugs
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a great I Spy quilt! Fun to search through all the different fabrics that play well together. And your quilting, of course, ties everything together so well!
ReplyDeleteI guess I've been out of the game too long - this is the first pixelated heart quilt I've seen! I'll need to follow up on this links you kindly provided! It's so fun and pretty! Definitely a conversation starter and, yes, a great I Spy quilt! Of course, your quilting is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely finish. I didn't realize it was so big until I read the measurements. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea pixelated hearts were popular now. It’s a lovely quilt with lots of cute fabric in it. BTW — I realized after I pushed publish that I’d already commented on your last post. Sigh. I checked the comments on this post before I began!
