Haiku Half ½ Pint

This is my 6th quilt on my list of 13 "Resolution"/must-make quilts for 2021! It's my 15th quilt finish for 2021, but I often get distracted with quilt alongs and other quilts I want to make!
Quilt Info:
Pattern: Haiku Half Pint by Pieceworks Quilt Shop
Size: 38" X 42"
Batting: Quilters Dream Bamboo
Thread: Glide--Khaki
Quilting: Swivel Circle 2 from Intelligent Quilter

Interesting Info: I bought this pattern at Pieceworks Quilt Shop which is on the square in Winterset, Iowa. It's just a couple doors down from the Iowa Quilt Museum, so a perfect pair to visit! We visited there, and a number of other quilty stops, in early December, 2017. You can see photos of that trip here.

This pattern is written for 3 1/2" strips, but I redid it using 2 1/2" strips, since I have a drawer full of them! If I have just a bit of fabric leftover while cutting out a quilt, I cut it into either 2 1/2" strips, 10", 5" or 2 1/2" squares.
I quilted it with Swivel Circle 2, a fun, modern quilting motif!
For backing I found this Japanese bunny fabric in my collection! It also has kanji written on it between the bunnies, which means rabbit!!!
My favorite size quilt to make is baby quilts--so fast and fun! And my favorite place to give them to, if there are no new babies in my circle to celebrate that is, is Jack's Basket, where babies with Down syndrome are celebrated with a basket full of encouragement, including a baby quilt! That's where this quilt will be going!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  14. Nancy what a great little quilt. I may need to try your trimming of 2 1/2 strips down to those three sizes. Right now I just have a pile of 2 1/2 strip pieces. Great little pattern too. Yeah for Jacks Basket!

  15. This is your FIFTEENTH finish for 2021?! And here I am, trying to pull off Personal Finishes #2 and #3... But in my defense, I haven't been counting my charity quilts since I get the tops from other guild members and then hand them off to someone else for binding after I've quilted them. This is another sweet Jack's Basket quilt, Nancy. I've been eyeing Karlee's Swivel Circles panto; can't decide if it's different enough from the Golden Curls panto that I already have but it will probably wind up in my shopping cart eventually. Just a matter of time! Happy Easter to you and your family!
