Gudrun at GE Designs did another QAL!!! My version has a very green, leafy feel, all finished on Arbor Day this year!
Pattern: Strip Joints by GE Designs
Size: 37" X 37"
Batting: Quilters Dream Cotton
Thread: Glide--Irish Spring
Quilting: Birchwood by Leisha Farnsworth at Urban Elementz
Interesting Info: This quilt along ran from April 6 through April 27, 2021. Gudrun had three teaching videos she shared during the QAL. It's super helpful that Gudrun puts all the info for her QALs on one page on her blog. You can find all the info for this QAL here.
I used fabrics from my collection and sized my quilt for Jack's Basket! On DH's suggestion, I made mine green, his favorite color. I cut too many of the longer strips, so I used them for an outer border. I rediscovered the fabric with color words and decided to add that in as sashing, using as many GREEN words as I could!!! For backing, I pieced together two Japanese fabrics--dragonflies and sashiko:⤵️
The binding is this Tula Pink fabric that looks like Malachite, a green stone.⤵️
Check out the slideshow of 350 different versions of this quilt that Gudrun put together!!! The slideshow starts on this video at 25:10. Mine is shown at 25:36. The whole slideshow takes 5 minutes.
