Here are four fun quilts I quilted recently: three client quilts and one of my own!!!
Quilt Info #1:
Pattern: Tomte by Sherri Noel
Size: 54" x 63"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton--White
Thread: Glide--White
Pantograph: Ginger Ice ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
Interesting Info: Do you know what a Tomte is? It's from Scandinavian folklore. It resembles a gnome which is from Germany. This Tomte has eyes, which is different from the gnomes we see so much recently, whose hats are pulled down over their eyes!
Susan picked this fluffy polar fleece with snowflakes for backing!⤵️
Cute and cuddly!!!!
Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Quilter Bonnie
Pattern: Yellow Brick Road
Size: 36" x 45"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--White
Pantograph: Abundance ⤵️ from Sew Shabby Quilting
Interesting Info: Did you know the latest style for decorating baby rooms is Boho? Short for Bohemian or Gypsy, the style includes earthy colors, ratan & wicker, plants, rainbows, macrame, wood accents, safari and woodland animals, neutrals--it's a throwback to the 70's and 80's. Bonnie made this quilt for a Boho baby's room, complete with rainbows, mauve, animals and earth tones. The quilting reflects the Boho vibe with leaves and foliage, rainbows and berries!
The backing is this earth tone rainbow print. These are all flannel fabrics!

Great Boho baby quilt, Bonnie!!!
Quilt Info #3:
Maker: Me!
Pattern: August Stars from Jaybird Quilts
Size: 42" x 49"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Linen
Pantograph: Doodle Swirl ⤵️ from Sew Shabby Quilting
Sew Shabby Quilting is a new pantograph designer--she started selling her pantographs a year ago and has over 350 of her own original designs already. I do love her new modern pantographs!!!⤴️⤵️ This one is called Doodle Swirl!
We can take classes for free at the quilt shop I work at, when space is available. I had this pattern, August Stars, so I joined the class in November, as motivation to make it.
I bought this sweet jelly roll for half price at a local shop, during a going out of business sale. It has sheep, ducks, bees, dots and stripes.

My recent go-to backing--nine fat quarters!⤴️ I love how this baby quilt turned out! I set aside the pink strips from the jelly roll and will use them for another quilt sometime.
Quilt Info #4:
Maker: Sheila
Pattern: Exploding Heart by Slice of Pi Quilts
Size: 45" x 46"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20--White
Thread: Glide--Linen
Pantograph: Cupid ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
Sheila wanted swirls and hearts for quilting and Cupid fit the bill just right!!!⤴️⤵️
Interesting Info: The Exploding Heart quilt pattern is very popular in the quilting world!!! The original pattern finishes at 72" square. Sheila downsized each finished square so hers would be baby size. Hers finishes at 45" square.

It's always fun to see what you've been working on, Nancy! I bet your customers always love the results. August Stars is a beauty - hard to believe it's made with a jelly roll!
ReplyDeleteFun batch of quilts. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, tomtes - how cute are they? I love the soft colors in your quilt, and your quilting designs are always spot on. Exploding Heart for a baby quilt is such a cute idea!
ReplyDeleteThe Tomtes' are adorable...and I didn't know about the difference between them and the gnomes. The backing is perfect. Didn't know about the new baby room colors, but Bonnie did. August stars is gorgeous and the panto is so fun. Love seeing the baby size exploding heart! You have been busy!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about Tomtes. . .how interesting! I hadn't heard about baby room colors either. Your August Stars quilt is beautiful. Three hundred fifty quilting designs drafted in one year. . .wow! That designer is prolific! --TerryK@OnGoingProjects

ReplyDeleteLovely Quilts - I like the term Boho Baby ha!! That sounds like a fun child ;-)
