Welcome to my stop on the 2024 Fast & More Fun Blog Hop!!! Villa Rosa sent 28 of us bloggers the 5 featured patterns and we got to choose which one/s to make!!! They really are fast and fun to make, as is demonstrated by how many made multiple quilts! I made 4 of the patterns!!!
These patterns cover all the precuts--panel, fat quarter, layer cake and a charm pack or two! You can order this fast and fun set of patterns for just $8.95, free shipping within the US!
I'll share them here in the order I made them. Read to the bottom and comment for chances to win some prizes!
Quilt Info #1:
Pattern: Clover from Villa Rosa Designs
Fabrics: "By the Sea" from P&B Textiles and "Midnight Sapphire" from Henry Glass & Co
Size: 14" x 52"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Sky
Quilt Info #2:
Pattern: Gypsy Rose from Villa Rosa Designs
Fabrics: "Aerial" by TamaraKate for Windham Fabrics
Size: 63" x 72"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Pink
This pattern is made from 10" squares, or cut from yardage, as I did.
Interesting Info: I enlarged the pattern by three extra rounds. You'll need an additional 36--10" squares to make this quilt the same size I did, finishing 63" x 72".
For backing, I pieced together 4 one yard cuts I had in my collection.⤵️Quilt Info #3:
Pattern: Ebb Tide from Villa Rosa Designs
Fabrics: "Mountains Calling" by Bernadett Urbanovics for Figo Fabrics
Size: 47" x 61"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Blush
I used flannel for the backing, and turned the back to the front for a soft flannel binding!⤴️⤵️
Quilt Info #4:
Pattern: Twinkle from Villa Rosa Designs
Charm Packs: Linear & Sunbeam by Rashida Coleman-Hale for Ruby Star Society
Size: 60" x 60"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20 White
Thread: Glide--Linen
These charm packs were a gift from Joyfully Tracie, who is part of the VRD Blog Hop today, also!!! ⤵️ Thanks, Tracie!!!
Interesting Info: I used "Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers" to cut the HSTs to the proper size. With this ruler, one can trim them and eliminate the dog ears before pressing open--trim on 2 sides instead of 4!This quilt is my favorite of the 4 and it was definitely the most work, but still an easy make!!!
Instead of using an accent, I used some of the leftover charm squares for the cornerstones!
Thank you for viewing my Villa Rosa Designs Fast & More Fun Blog Hop quilt show!!! Come back for more quilts and quilting!!!For a chance to win prizes, comment by Sunday, March 24, which of the 5 patterns you want to make first! Leave your email address, written out as follows: quilter at gmail dot com.
One person will win a set of the 5 featured patterns (international winners will receive digital copies), 3 people will win quilty prizes from sponsors and 3 people will be chosen to enter into the 3 grand prize drawings, including a Kaffe Fasset precut collection, a $100 gift certificate to Hancocks of Paducah and a big box of quilt goodies! I'll be contacting the winners from my blog by email after March 24!!!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

Lezlie llkunkle@hotmail.com
I love all of the quilts you made and the quilting really brought out the design. I think I would do the Ebb Tide first. I have some fabric that I love and wouldn’t want to cut up small. I have never seen that quilting pattern, but I will ask my long arm if she can get it.
ReplyDeleteKim Pemberton bassyarddog@gmail.com
DeleteNancy, I love your Gypsy Rose quilt — the fabrics, the quilting, and the extra size! I love your Twinkle quilt too and wouldn’t have guessed where the charm packs came from. I’m so glad you found a great pattern for them. And I’m intrigued by your trimmer. I love how versatile HSTs are, but the trimming is so overwhelming. This sounds like a real time saver. Happy hopping! Joyfully Tracie Gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteAll your quilts are beautiful! Well done! I think I would make Ebb Tide. :)

ReplyDeleteNancy, I like all of your versions! Your quilting is, as always, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGypsy is the one I want to make first. I like your idea of enlarging it by adding extra rounds; thanks for explaining that.

Margaret

I would make Gypsy Rose because in our quilt guild we individually make quilts to donate to nonprofit organizations in our community and I'm always looking for patterns and fabric that would appeal to young children and teens. This pattern looks like it would really show off some of the novelty prints I like to use. They are all very pretty, however.
