Red is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for April. I'm going for teal, turquoise and aqua! IYKYK!!!
I'm working on a nine-patch and snowball quilt for the RSC in 2025, inspired by Saija's quilt, here. Saija was inspired by Blue Elephant Stitches, here!!!Check out these close-ups of my 9-patches and let me know if you have any of the same prints! Here are the 9-patches I've made so far in 2025:
I also have red and teal 2 1/2" strips. Those will come later this month as jelly roll race quilts!
Linking up with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge at So Scrappy on Saturday.

Oh man I should never click on your links to patterns - lol! I love that pattern. I don't recognize any of your teals, turquoises, and aquas, but they are beautiful together.
ReplyDeleteYes! The links to those patterns have me wanting make a similar one as well!!! I do have some of that fabric in the first 9 patch with the little anchors 🙂
ReplyDeleteI love the pear tree and the hedgehog ;) I don't have any of the same prints, but your teal and turquoise are very pretty. Thank you for sharing the links and your blocks!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was teal too from her post 'teal is next' but alas it is red
ReplyDeleteI was thinking it was teal as well this month. I have to say, I love that teal anchor fabric and the words one but I have not a single one of those prints in my stash in teal. Sounds like I need to go shopping =) Those are going to make a great quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe inspiration quilt is a fun idea, especially with the scrappy backgrounds. You have a lot of pretty teals in your 9-patch blocks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely quilt that is going to be. All those squares and not a single one in my stash! That is surprising since my TEAL scrap basket is overflowing (and came from generous friends around the country when it was depleted in 2023.)
ReplyDeleteI so agree with Linda! Your quilts always have me wanting to make one just like it. I have none of the same teal fabrics, but they are scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteI started with teal this week, too, Nancy, but hadn't gotten very far when I saw Angela's announcement of red, so went on from there. But it's all good - your teal scraps were sewn up into beautiful blocks, and so will your red ones! I couldn't see any fabrics from your blocks that I have in my stash, but I would like one of each! 😊
ReplyDeleteI had to look up IYKYK. Now I Know!!! Your teal blocks are great and I might have shared one of aqua prints. It is fun to look to see if I recognize any from my stash! You sure are going to have a lovely finish!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteGreat blog
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are all so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI always have to check out everyone’s fabrics to see if I have any of them, lol! I do happen to have the aqua with black branches and gold foliage, only mine is hot pink! I must have only bought a fat quarter, and of course, I wish I had more. Candy
ReplyDeleteI pulled out the teal fabrics and then set them aside when I realized it is Red for April. Feel better that I am not alone in jumping too quickly because at the end of the month we are all chomping at the bits for the next color :-D I did identify one Connecting Threads fabric one Tula Pink and one Cotton and Steel.
ReplyDeleteI also read it as teal but was pointed in the right direction before any sewing happened. I did a post amendment. Your teal blocks are pretty.
ReplyDeleteTeal, turquoise, and aqua! These are my favorite colors, and look especially good when they're together, just as you've shared. I zoomed-in on your blocks and I don't see a single piece that's in my stash... though as you know, my print stash is (happily) getting low. Very nicely done though! This will be a pretty quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love the inspiration quilts, thanks for the links! I don't have any of your aquas sadly, they are lovely and work well together.
ReplyDeleteI saw Blue Elephant Stitches nine-patch/snowball quilt and fell in love with it, too! I look forward to seeing your version, Nancy, and I can't wait to see this month's jelly race quilts! :)
ReplyDeletegosh no, but I'd like to have those prints! I love aqua, your blocks are great

Lovely collection of colours. They do look great together.
ReplyDeleteNope, no matches to my collections. But thanks for the links... that is going to be a wonderful quilt.
ReplyDeleteThese are so fun! I love the pattern you are using this year and I do have a few of the same fabrics...at least 4 of them, and some of the near solids are hard to tell. I am going to save this pattern, too, as I love it.
ReplyDeleteOh Nancy, I only have 1. You'd think, since teal is nearly my favorite color, I'd have more in my stockpile!
ReplyDeleteLovely fabrics! I think this is going to be such a pretty quilt. Sure seems fun and fast to make. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

So colorful, love the scrappy look. Thank you again for linking up to Put your foot down.
ReplyDeleteLove your teals ( haha accidental reds!!) The shades are SO pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have the most beautiful teal fabrics, Nancy. These blocks are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThat's gonna be a great quilt! Your fabrics are so scrappy and lovely. I like that plan.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful fabrics, Nancy. Alas, I have none similar to yours in my stash at this moment! I'm sure you'll pick up the reds next time...when teal is announced! LOL Have a great week. Thank you for joining us at Monday Musings.
