A Deer Quilt 🦌 + D4P

I have two pre-cut friendly quilts to share with you today, by two quilters!!!
Quilt Info #1:
Maker: Susan
Size:49" x 57"
Batting: Warm & Natural
Thread: Glide--Light Tan
Pantograph: Antlers ⤵️ from Anne Bright Designs
The deer silhouette, plus deer fabric was what attracted Susan to this kit! And what better quilting for such a quilt than deer antlers!!!
Susan reports that the kit had white fabric for the deer silhouette. But she decided to swap that out for a brown blender silhouette. I think she made a good choice!
This antler quilting is the cutest!!! ⤵️ Send more deer quilts so I can use this quilting again!!! Perfect with Minkee backing!!!
The rail fence blocks on this quilt were made from a jelly roll! How's that for fast and fun?!!
Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Bonnie
Pattern: Katie from GE Designs
Size:49" x 57"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Azure
Pantograph: Bonnie ⤵️ from My Creative Stitches
Bonnie bought this layer cake on sale during her last family vacation trip!
Blue and white is a big family favorite!!! (Bonnie is my sister!) Aren't these prints adorable?!!
I couldn't resist using this new "Bonnie" pantograph on Bonnie's latest quilt!!! Both the back and front are busy prints, but you can see it a bit here.⤵️
Gudrun at GE Designs said this pattern is her nod to the "Disappearing 4 Patch" pattern, D4P. She gave it her own twist by offsetting the slicing and swapping.
Fun quilts, quilters!!! Keep on inspiring us!!!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  1. These are lovely.
I like the idea of using the jelly roll for the post and rail. That works well. I agree with changing the deer colour, too.
And the deer antler quilting is a delight. It looks wonderful on the minkee.
The blues in the second quilt are gorgeous. That pattern looks like it was designed just for this layer cake. perfect.

  4. These are both beautiful and inspiring quilts. At first, I thought it was the D4P design. The colors are perfect for each quilt

  5. I had to look again to see that it's not a 'regular' D4P! Your quilting is always spot-on.

  11. Great quilts! I too like the brown deer and the jelly roll used for the rail blocks. The antler quilting was the perfect choice! Your sister's quilt is awesome! I like the variation of the disappearing nine patch and how could you not use that panto for this quilt?--TerryK@OnGoingProjects

  14. Both these quilts are fun. The rail fence with the brown deer and deer pattern is just perfect. I do think using the brown was a much better choice! Bonnie's blue quilt with Bonnie panto is just perfect. Love the twist on the D4P! Nice jobs by sewists and the quilters!
