RSC🧡 Jelly Roll Drag Race

Orange is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for June. I'm using my scrap 2 1/2" strips to make baby-sized jelly roll "drag race" quilts! This month my scrap drawer held enough for two!!!
Quilt Info #1:
Size: 40" x 50"
Batting: Quilters Dream Cotton
Thread: Glide--Apricot Blush
Pantograph: Daisy Daze 1 ⤵️ from Karlee Porter
"Daisy Daze #1" is a fun modern pantograph!!! ⤴️⤵️
More of that dramatic orange duvet cover on the back!⤵️ (See previous use here.)
These fabrics are a mixture of new and old.
I love the peachy color the quilt gives off as a whole!
Quilt Info #2:
Size: 40" x 50"
Batting: Quilters Dream Cotton
Thread: Glide--Apricot Blush
Pantograph: Summer Solstice ⤵️ from Digital Longarm
This panto, "Summer Solstice" was a freebie on the summer solstice this year, June 20, for all newsletter subscribers of Tracey Pereira of Digital Longarm! Isn't this a super fun quilting design for this quilt?!!
I used some scrap strips leftover from an Angela Walters 108" print called "Drawn", for the binding of these two. I was glad to finally find a good use for those long leftover strips!
This is my 4th and last time to use this orange duvet cover for the back of a baby quilt. ⤴️ I still have enough to back a table runner.
Here's my jelly roll "drag race" quilt count for this year:
January 🩷: 2
February 💙: 5
March 💛: 2
April 🩵❤️: 4
May 💚: 3
June 🧡: 2
Linking up with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge at So Scrappy on Saturday.

  1. You have done a very good job with your scrappy race quilts this year. So fun to see all the different fabrics you have.

  2. What gorgeous quilts! I am bookmarking this post to remind myself that it is OK to NOT have everything perfectly matchy-matchy! Once your put all those fabrics together, the overall effect is just beautiful. Sometimes I dither way too much. I should just go with what I pick up and not think it to death!

  4. You always have the most spectacular quilting designs for your quilt- and they fit perfectly for the theme of the quilt- I just love that. These are the cutest. I do need to make a jelly roll quilt sometime. Have a wonderful weekend, Nancy. Happy quilting. Hugs.

  10. Wow, your quilts are stunning! I’ve used IKEA duvet covers before too, but have never seen such a nice one (in the clearance section, anyway). Maybe it’s time to check out their regular section. Anyway, I love those quilting patterns too!

  13. Well done, it's great to see your totals so far this year on these jelly roll baby quilts. You certainly are getting your money's worth out if that duvet cover. And I know I'm not the only one who has this type of quilt on my RSC list to do, thanks for the inspiration!

  15. I am loving these jelly roll quilts. And you know what I think of the Ikea backings.
That Daisy Daze pantograph looks wonderful.
Orange is not a colour I would normally have chosen for a single colour quilt, but these show me how incredibly effective that colour can be.
    Thanks for the inspiration.

  16. Look at you go! And go, and go! So impressive! Love those orange strips. I think I recognize an old Riley Blake rainbow zig-zag print that was always in my stash, once upon a time. Your pantos are good ones too. I always look at them closely, to see if I might reproduce them on my domestic - definitely not the first one, but perhaps the second one. That duvet cover has seen quite the use! Love that too. You're an all-around excellent qultmaker.

  20. I love seeing how fabulous these are turning out and how wonderful they will go to comfort someone. Summer Solstice is an awesome design...perfect for this quilt. The Karlee Porter is also great; hers are often too big for my dinky frame, and shrunk they get too close...but I love them.
