This quilt is made from indigo blue and white Japanese prints.
"Sashiko" quilting is very appropriate for this Japanese quilt.

Another busy quilt. I didn't want to do the same pantograph again when there are so many to choose from. The "texture" quilting this time comes from "Fern Gully" quilting.
Four baby quilts. That makes a total of 32 on hand right now. I will be sending 30 to Japan. I'm making a several extra since quite a few of them are pink, thanks to April being pink for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, and pink being a favorite of mine. I'd like to even out the ratio of girl to boy quilts a bit more.
The last thing I do while making these quilts is sew my label on the front of the quilt, lower right corner. ⤵️

Have I ever told you how much I love your Japanese fabrics? And all your fabrics are just so cute. My favorite today is the Indian corn one! Will you be taking a photo of the 30 you are sending? Can't imagine how you'd display them for a photo. Congratulations for reaching your goal. Those will be very blessed children who receive one.
ReplyDeleteVery nice quilts! I sew charity quilts with a friend, and we always find it a challenge to make enough “boy” quilts. So many of our fabrics are florals or colors we consider feminine. I am trying to accumulate more masculine prints, but they don’t seem to be as popular. The flannel backing with the dogs and cats is so cute! I hadn’t seen that one before.

ReplyDeleteThose quilts are all wonderful. It just dawned on me how wonderful your pictures of the quilts are. In fact, it's amazing how well you capture the quilting done on the quilts. Special lighting? Really sunny day? Just really photogenic quilts? You are really making progress on your collection for Cambodia.
ReplyDeleteMy preferred setting for quilt photos is outdoors on overcast days. If it’s going to be sunny, I get photos done before the sun comes up over the trees and houses to the east.
