I have four more baby quilts to share this week.
Pattern: Honey Bouquet from Villa Rosa Designs
Size: 36" x 45"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Denim
This quilt is made from indigo blue and white Japanese prints.
"Sashiko" quilting is very appropriate for this Japanese quilt.
All of these quilts have flannel backings, many are pieced. My Quilt Info #2:
Pattern: Honey Bouquet from Villa Rosa Designs
Size: 36" x 45"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Cleopatra
This flannel, donated to our church quilt group, makes the cutest backing--happy children, trains, cats and dogs!
The quilting is "Basic Swirls" in gold thread.
My Quilt Info #3:
Size: 42" x 54"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Cleopatra
This busy of a quilt calls for some simple "texture" for quilting. "Amoebas Gone Wild" is a nicely rounded meander that makes for a good texture.
More cute flannel--teddy bears driving pick-up trucks hauling Christmas trees! ⤴️
My Quilt Info #4:
Size: 42" x 54"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Cleopatra
Another busy quilt. I didn't want to do the same pantograph again when there are so many to choose from. The "texture" quilting this time comes from "Fern Gully" quilting.
More of those happy children on flannel! ⤵️I like how these I-spy baby quilts could be for a boy or girl. I'm planning on making more.
Four baby quilts. That makes a total of 32 on hand right now. I will be sending 30 to Japan. I'm making a several extra since quite a few of them are pink, thanks to April being pink for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, and pink being a favorite of mine. I'd like to even out the ratio of girl to boy quilts a bit more.
The last thing I do while making these quilts is sew my label on the front of the quilt, lower right corner. ⤵️
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

Have I ever told you how much I love your Japanese fabrics? And all your fabrics are just so cute. My favorite today is the Indian corn one! Will you be taking a photo of the 30 you are sending? Can't imagine how you'd display them for a photo. Congratulations for reaching your goal. Those will be very blessed children who receive one.
ReplyDeleteVery nice quilts! I sew charity quilts with a friend, and we always find it a challenge to make enough “boy” quilts. So many of our fabrics are florals or colors we consider feminine. I am trying to accumulate more masculine prints, but they don’t seem to be as popular. The flannel backing with the dogs and cats is so cute! I hadn’t seen that one before.
ReplyDeleteThere you go again my friend! I just know you have so much fun making these and enjoying seeing every single piece of fabric again! And the recipients are blessed when they receive the quilt. And you are blessed by giving them a little joy.
ReplyDeleteLovely work again! Your donation collection is exploding.
ReplyDeleteLovely fabric choices.
I always enjoy seeing your combinations.
You are making amazing progress with your baby quilts. Congratulations on 4 more finishes!
ReplyDeleteWow, some quilts are going to Japan and some to Cambodia! They sure are fun happy quilts.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful quartet you shared today! I love the quilting and fabrics of the first one --such fun backings and fabrics in each one. Congratulations on meeting er exceeding your goal!
ReplyDeleteNancy, your quilts inspire me to pull from my stash and sew without abandon! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAaw such fun and fabulous quilts. I love the darling backing with the children. So cute.
ReplyDeleteCute quilts! Red and gold is a beautiful combination, I should consider to use it ;) Pretty quilting and backings, these are lovely new quilts and I'm sure the kids will enjoy playing with them. Thank you for sharing these inspiring patterns, color combos and quilting designs, and linking up
ReplyDeleteSuch adorable quilts. They will provide warmth and love all around.
ReplyDeleteFour more quilts! Wow. I need your inspiration, fabrics, and enthusiasm around my house! You're sure keeping yourself busy on behalf of others. You're a great blessing to others.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, those are such cute quilts.
ReplyDeleteYou make the best baby and I Spy quilts! It's really funto look at allthe squares up close. I the kids who get them just love them!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet little quilts, they will be much loved & much used I'm sure💝
ReplyDeleteThose quilts are all wonderful. It just dawned on me how wonderful your pictures of the quilts are. In fact, it's amazing how well you capture the quilting done on the quilts. Special lighting? Really sunny day? Just really photogenic quilts? You are really making progress on your collection for Cambodia.
ReplyDeleteMy preferred setting for quilt photos is outdoors on overcast days. If it’s going to be sunny, I get photos done before the sun comes up over the trees and houses to the east.
DeleteSuch fun baby quilts. All the quilting works well too. You've done such a good job on all the donation quilts you've crafted in the last month.
ReplyDeleteMore cute quilts, Nancy! They will be loved. Fun backings and beautiful quilting, as always.
ReplyDeleteLove all the baby quilts!!! I enjoyed looking at them and examining the quilting! Lovely work! And the eye spy quilts are so much fun! Thanks for linking to TGIFF!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful fabric collection and it shows in these little quilts. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
