More Quilts For Babies

I have four more baby quilts to share this week.
My Quilt Info #1:
Pattern: Honey Bouquet from Villa Rosa Designs
Size: 36" x 45"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Denim
Pantograph: Sashiko ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
This quilt is made from indigo blue and white Japanese prints.
"Sashiko" quilting is very appropriate for this Japanese quilt.
All of these quilts have flannel backings, many are pieced.
My Quilt Info #2:
Pattern: Honey Bouquet from Villa Rosa Designs
Size: 36" x 45"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Cleopatra
Pantograph: Basic Swirl ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
As I've written before, these quilts are going to Cambodia. Traditional Cambodian clothes are red and gold, so I made a baby quilt with that combination. I'm not sure if it will hit the mark or not! 🤷🏻‍♀️ But I thought I'd try it.
This flannel, donated to our church quilt group, makes the cutest backing--happy children, trains, cats and dogs!
The quilting is "Basic Swirls" in gold thread.
My Quilt Info #3:
Size: 42" x 54"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Cleopatra
Pantograph: Amoebas Gone Wild ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
I made a total of six I-spy quilts for use as English teaching aids in orphanages in Japan, back on December 7, 2022, and March 12, 2022. I recently ran across some leftover 6 1/2" squares from making those quilts and put together two more I-spy baby quilts.
This busy of a quilt calls for some simple "texture" for quilting. "Amoebas Gone Wild" is a nicely rounded meander that makes for a good texture.
More cute flannel--teddy bears driving pick-up trucks hauling Christmas trees! ⤴️
My Quilt Info #4:
Size: 42" x 54"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Cleopatra
Pantograph: Fern Gully ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
Another busy quilt. I didn't want to do the same pantograph again when there are so many to choose from. The "texture" quilting this time comes from "Fern Gully" quilting.
More of those happy children on flannel! ⤵️
I like how these I-spy baby quilts could be for a boy or girl. I'm planning on making more.
Four baby quilts. That makes a total of 32 on hand right now. I will be sending 30 to Japan. I'm making a several extra since quite a few of them are pink, thanks to April being pink for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, and pink being a favorite of mine. I'd like to even out the ratio of girl to boy quilts a bit more.
The last thing I do while making these quilts is sew my label on the front of the quilt, lower right corner. ⤵️
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  1. Have I ever told you how much I love your Japanese fabrics? And all your fabrics are just so cute. My favorite today is the Indian corn one! Will you be taking a photo of the 30 you are sending? Can't imagine how you'd display them for a photo. Congratulations for reaching your goal. Those will be very blessed children who receive one.

  2. Very nice quilts! I sew charity quilts with a friend, and we always find it a challenge to make enough “boy” quilts. So many of our fabrics are florals or colors we consider feminine. I am trying to accumulate more masculine prints, but they don’t seem to be as popular. The flannel backing with the dogs and cats is so cute! I hadn’t seen that one before.

  16. Those quilts are all wonderful. It just dawned on me how wonderful your pictures of the quilts are. In fact, it's amazing how well you capture the quilting done on the quilts. Special lighting? Really sunny day? Just really photogenic quilts? You are really making progress on your collection for Cambodia.

    1. My preferred setting for quilt photos is outdoors on overcast days. If it’s going to be sunny, I get photos done before the sun comes up over the trees and houses to the east.
