✂️ Another Quarantine QAL, Or Two! ✂️

Gudrun of GE Quilt Designs held another Quarantine QAL on August 16, 2020. Three thousand quilters quilted along on that day. Gudrun designed a new pattern called "Harmony" for the event. The block is two fabrics, wrapped together, linking arms, to represent harmony. I made 2 baby size Harmony quilts!!!
1st Quilt Info:
Pattern: Harmony by GE Quilt Designs
Size: 44" X 48"--baby quilt size
Batting: Quilters Dream Orient
Thread: Glide--White
Quilting: Echoed Swirls by Longarm League
Interesting Info: Somehow I followed the wrong cutting directions and cut out enough fabric to make 2 baby quilts! But, there's always a need for another baby quilt, so that was not a problem!
I love how this pantograph looks like intense freehand swirls!!! ⤴️ ⤵️
With binding attached ⤵️
Here's one block, representing two arms linked together, in harmony. ⤵️
I pieced together fabrics from my collection for the back. ⤵️
2nd Quilt Info:
Size: 40" X 44"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20 White
Thread: Glide--White
Quilting: Rosemary by Dastardly Line
Interesting Info: I had cut out four extra strips in mint and decided to use them for the border on this quilt. Also, I ran out of white background fabric on this second quilt, so you can see my "make-do" places of a slightly different white background color.
I love the delicate look of this quilting, "Rosemary"!!! ⤵️
More pieced fabrics from my collection for the back of this second quilt: ⤵️
To see more versions of Harmony quilts watch here:

Part 2: YouTube, from 9:00 minutes, (226 quilts)
Part 3: YouTube, from 9:25 minutes. (106 quilts)

Each slideshow lasts about 4 minutes and features amazing Harmony quilts in many colors, variations and sizes!!!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  7. LOL, I got SO sidetracked and watched all the slideshows of the quilts. It's so fun to see how people come up with different looks with the same pattern. Yours has such nice colors, and I really like the Echoed Swirls.

  9. How lovely to see two different quilting designs on the same quilt! Having an extra baby quilt ready to go for the next baby is something I can only dream about, as I scramble to finish my baby shower quilt for a baby who is nearly two years old already...

  11. Wow! Both quilts are so pretty! The first one really looks like freehand quilting as opposed to a pantograph. You made the most out of cutting too many pieces...how many times have we all done that?!

  15. I love the swirly design - I was doodling that the other day. I never heard of Dastardly Design, but I sure do love Rosemary. Good for you for doing all these QALs and finishing - you are something!

  16. Great job finishing two baby quilts so quickly. And the Echoed Swirls really talks to me. But, I too, haven't heard of Dastardly Design. Must look them up.
