Susan does such a nice job. These are beautiful quilts. I love the chicken quilt especially and love the honeycomb quilting.

ReplyDeleteI'm really intrigued by the border of that Minnesota panel quilt. It's a great way to incorporate all of those supporting prints without getting too time-consuming, and the scale balances the large center panel so nicely. Do you know if there's a pattern for this or did she just come up with that design on her own? Your quilting is the icing on the cake of each of these beauties as usual. Darling little quilted elephants!
ReplyDeleteI love the strip quilt concept for using up lengths of coordinating fabric and ending up with a quick quilt! Quilter’s Palette worked out great for the Minnesota quilt, and the malachite quilt design is a favorite.

These are all such neat quilts! I enjoy seeing what people do with borders on panels, and Susan is a master at them. Your chicken wire quilting on the chicken quilt is perfect, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteSusan's border on the chicken quilt truly rocks. The elephant panto was the perfect choice for the strip quilt and that flannel backed Minnesota panel would be super cozy! Way to go Susan and Nancy!

ReplyDeleteThe chicken wire pattern is a perfect choice.
And the elephant quilting on the strippy quilt is a great idea. i can see little fingers tracing over the elephant shapes one day.
Susan is so prolific. I love all the different ways she finds to riff off and incorporate panels. Lucky her to have you as a resource to do her quilting. Seems you always have the perfect pantograph to mirror her concept.
ReplyDeleteAll of these and fun and beautiful! Great use of the chicken panel and that Honeycomb/Chicken wire quilting fit the bill perfectly. When you stitch these patterns out do you always use them the size they are designed in, decide what pattern to use based on the size to be stitched and before loading the quilt or adjust the pattern size to the quilt being stitched? Inquiring LA students would love to know!
ReplyDeleteSusan has been quite busy. I do love the chicken panel, chicken wire quilting and the bonus blocks in that border! The MN shop hop panel is fun and the dancing squares are just perfect to show off some of the other fabrics. Malachite is definitely a favorite quilting pattern. I do love the strippy quilt and it reminds me I have a group of fabrics I intend to use for it. Nice teamwork!
ReplyDeleteI was trying to decide which quilt I liked the best...they are all wonderful. Love the border of the chicken panel. The Minnesota panel looks great with the squares. And I do like malachite although I seldom use it. I need to think about using that one sometime. Oh those elephants -- both fabric and quilting design. Really fun quilts this week.
