Chickens, Lakes & Elephants

Three fun quilts made by Susan--she is definitely using it up!!!

Susan's daughter raises chickens, so how perfect is a chicken quilt for her!
We went with honeycomb type quilting that resembles chicken wire when quilted out!
For the back, Susan used up several different chicken wire prints she had leftover! ⤵️
And check out that fancy pieced border Susan made! ⤵️ This is a free pattern for panels. What a great gift for her chicken-mom daughter!

Pantograph: Malachite ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
Malachite is one of those quilting designs that looks great on any water, land, or park type quilts. 
This is a panel from the Quilt Minnesota shop hop a few years ago. 
Yellow flannel for the back makes it super soft!!! ⤵️
This is Susan's second time to make this quilt with this panel. She knows what she's doing! And it's a great quilt gift for any Minnesotan!

Pantograph: Elephant ⤵️ from Totally Quilted
Elephant quilting on this cute baby quilt! This pantograph comes from Totally Quilted, formerly called OESD--they just did a name change and a lot of their designs are on sale in recognition of the change.
Susan made this strippy quilt by alternating 5" strips with 4 1/2" strips. Clever!
Here are the elephants that inspired the quilting choice! ⤵️
The back is more of the fabrics puzzle pieced together. ⤵️
This entire quilt, front and back, is flannel--soft! And what a cute color!!!
Great job, Susan! Keep on quilting and gifting!!!

    Susan does such a nice job. These are beautiful quilts. I love the chicken quilt especially and love the honeycomb quilting.

    That is quite the title for this post Nancy! I love that border on the chicken quilt and a perfect choice of quilting design:) Of course the Minnesota quilt is special too.

    I'm really intrigued by the border of that Minnesota panel quilt. It's a great way to incorporate all of those supporting prints without getting too time-consuming, and the scale balances the large center panel so nicely. Do you know if there's a pattern for this or did she just come up with that design on her own? Your quilting is the icing on the cake of each of these beauties as usual. Darling little quilted elephants!

    I love the strip quilt concept for using up lengths of coordinating fabric and ending up with a quick quilt! Quilter’s Palette worked out great for the Minnesota quilt, and the malachite quilt design is a favorite.

    These are all such neat quilts! I enjoy seeing what people do with borders on panels, and Susan is a master at them. Your chicken wire quilting on the chicken quilt is perfect, Nancy!
