RSC Neutrals 🩶🤎🖤

The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for October is neutrals (or catch-up). My RSC goal this year is to whittle down my stack of 5" scrap charm squares by turning them into baby quilts, 9 squares across by 11 squares down, therefore "99 Charms" quilts. Here are the neutral baby quilts I made.
My Quilt Info #1:
Pattern: 99 Charms
Size: 41" x 50"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton Request
Thread: Glide--Cleopatra
Pantograph: Tesselation Peel 2 ⤵️ from Sew Shabby Pantos
Since this is a "neutral" quilt, I used some fancy quilting, "Tessellation Peel 2", to add some interest.
I also added as much color as possible with the squares I had.
Love those sheep! ⤵️
A lot of these prints bring back memories for me! My daughter made a scrub top from the orange/yellow/green leaf fabric when she was a CNA during high school. ⤵️
The backing is a Japanese print of bells and shibori. ⤵️
My Quilt Info #2:
Pattern: 99 Charms
Size: 40" x 51"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton Request
Thread: Glide--White
Pantograph: Nebula ⤵️ from Totally Quilted
This quilt is mainly black and white. It's been said that black and white contrast is what babies see best as newborns. Although I'm not sure how they determined that!!!
"Nebula" quilting adds some interesting swirls to these graphic squares.
My black & white striped binding fabric stash is holding on!
The backing is "Klippbräcka", a twin-size duvet cover from IKEA. I bought it on clearance for $11.99. The fiber content is 80% cotton/20% rayon. I was glad I had this one on hand, as it matches the front so well. (Full backing photo below.)
My Quilt Info #3:
Pattern: 99 Charms
Size: 40" x 51"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% White Cotton
Thread: Glide--Azure
Pantograph: Celtic Knot ⤵️ from Intelligent Quilting
I used "Azure" colored thread, to give this grey/black/white quilt a little more color. The quilting, "Celtic Knot" was inspired by a few Celtic prints mixed in the quilt.
This quilt has gray mixed in with black and white prints, plus some colorful prints with black background. I found the rainbow on black stripe in my collection for the binding! (One of those Celtic prints below. ⤵️)
Here's the full picture of the "Klippbräcka" backing, same as the previous quilt.
And here's a close-up of the "Celtic Knot" quilting. ⤵️
My three "neutral" quilts. I have long since used up all my original random scrap 5" charm squares. I have also made many more! I will continue to make these "99 Charms" quilts. I often think of Melva's saying, "To make a quilt is to make scraps".

My RSC 99 Charms quilt count for 2026:
