🇺🇸Liberty 1 & 2🇺🇸

I have a double finish of my own to share today!!!
Quilt Info:
Pattern: "Liberty", a free pattern from Primrose Cottage Quilts--sign up for their newsletter
Size: First one--14" X 28"; Second one--24" X 30"
Batting: Quilters Dream Poly
Thread: Glide--Cream
Quilting: Star Spangled Banner ⤵️, free from Wildflower Quilting
Interesting Info: I sewed 20 of these 6" blocks at our recent LQS employee retreat. I put 8 together for my mom's room--her space is 14" X 28". And I put 12 blocks together for our front door. I usually make our front door quilts 24" square, but I wanted to use ALL the blocks, not have 3 left over!
It still fits, even though it's not my usual square size! ⤵️
As for the backs, I went unconventional and used whatever I could find in my collection that was the right size! No judgement, please!!! The back of my mom's is a red paisley on blue background. Not patriotic, but not too far off. ⤵️
Okay, the back of my own is this red and green print ⤵️, which was just the right size. Never mind that the selvege says "Folk Art Christmas 2 by Robyn Pandolph"!!! Can I just say "Christmas in July"?!! It hangs by a Hang It Dang It Quilt Hanger.
Here's my mom's patriotic quilt, hanging by her door:
And our quilt on our front door:
This is the 8th quilt that I've made to put on our front door during the different seasons!!! Click on the label "front door quilt" below to see them all.⤵️

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

    1. Our front door faces west, so we do have the afternoon sun. But I switch them out enough that there's not much fading. And if one does get noticeably faded, I'll just make a new one!

    1. When we moved in, the front door already had a big nail in it, painted the color of the door, so it's not noticeable. The Hang It Dang It has a hole for hanging. I do a lark's head knot through the hole with a rubber band, and loop the rubber band over the nail. I hope you can picture that!

  10. Fun, fun! And the backs don't matter. It's taken me awhile to be able to put just anything on the back though, lol. Oh - I love your metal sign on your house - I have one just like it, too!

  16. I was wondering about the long and thin look of your mom’s quilt. Makes sense. Both quilts are really cute. Yea for using fabric you already own. It’s all about the front on these hangings.

  17. These are both so cute Nancy! I had the idea to make a monthly mailbox quilt after making another one in February, but haven't continued, but this inspires me to make some more! I love hearts - actually the one I made was for Valentine's Day! Thanks for linking up.
